Community Guidelines
Effective:
CollaboTokyo works when creators and brands can trust what they see and who they talk to. These guidelines apply to everything you publish and every collaboration you start here. They are part of our Terms of Service; breaking them can lead to content being removed or access being suspended.
1. Be who you say you are
- Use your real name or your brand's real name, and only connect accounts and websites you own or are authorized to represent.
- Report your audience honestly. Never buy followers, views or engagement, and never edit screenshots or numbers.
- Only list past partnerships, clients or results that are real and that you are allowed to mention.
- Agencies and managers must say whom they represent.
2. Always disclose advertising
Japan prohibits stealth marketing. Any post made because of a collaboration found here — paid, gifted, discounted or otherwise rewarded — must be clearly labeled as advertising, for example with "広告", "PR" or "プロモーション", in a place viewers will notice. Use each platform's paid-partnership tool where it exists. Brands must never ask creators to hide or blur the relationship, or to present sponsored content as an independent review.
3. Make fair, clear deals
- Describe campaigns accurately: what you want, on which platforms, by when, and what you will pay or provide.
- Agree deliverables, usage rights, payment terms and cancellation in writing before work starts. Brands commissioning individual creators must state these terms clearly and pay on time, as required by Japan's Freelance Act.
- Do not ask for large amounts of free "test" work, or demand rights beyond what was agreed.
- Do what you agreed, communicate early if plans change, and pay and deliver on time.
4. Treat people with respect
- No harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other characteristic.
- No sexual advances or requests for personal content. Collaborations are professional relationships.
- Respect "no". If someone declines or does not reply, do not keep messaging them or contact them through other channels.
- Do not share other people's private information or messages without their permission.
5. Keep outreach personal and relevant
Our AI can draft outreach, but you are the sender. Read and personalize every message, contact only people whose work genuinely fits your campaign, and never send the same message in bulk. Do not use the marketplace to collect contact details, recruit for other services, or advertise unrelated offers.
6. In Tokyo
- Keep spot channels on topic for the place you are in, and keep booths and bulletin-board posts relevant to their area. Our AI area check may suggest a better-fitting area.
- Brief your AI agent honestly. It speaks for you, so do not tell it to exaggerate, pressure people or make promises you will not keep — and remember that only you can confirm a proposal.
- Use direct messages for genuine collaboration. Do not send unsolicited promotions, and never ask for or share passwords, bank or card details in messages.
- Do not use contact or friend requests in bulk, or to get around someone blocking or ignoring you.
7. Content and products we do not allow
- Illegal products or services, including counterfeit goods, drugs, weapons and unlicensed financial or medical services.
- Adult or sexually explicit content, and anything that sexualizes minors.
- Gambling that is not legal where it is offered, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, and "get rich quick" or high-risk investment promotions.
- Health, beauty or financial claims that are false, exaggerated or not permitted by law (for example under the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act).
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, portrait or publicity rights.
- Content that promotes violence, self-harm or dangerous activities.
8. Protect younger creators
Creators under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian to use the Service, and that guardian should be involved in any collaboration. Brands must not offer minors products or campaigns that are age-restricted (such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling or dating services).
9. Reporting problems
If you see a fake profile, misleading campaign, scam, harassment or anything else that breaks these guidelines, use the Report button on the profile, message, post, booth or listing — or email hello@collabotokyo.com with a link and a short description. Rights holders can use the same address to report infringement. Our moderators review every report and may hide or remove content, or suspend or ban accounts. We do not tell the person reported who reported them.
