Why a city?

Tokyo is the best example on earth of how scenes form. Fashion in Harajuku, electronics in Akihabara, music in Shimokitazawa, finance in Marunouchi: when people who care about the same thing share a few streets, they meet by accident, steal each other’s ideas and start things together.

The internet gave everyone reach but took away the streets. Every niche became a hashtag, every collab a cold DM. There’s nowhere to bump into the person two doors down who needs exactly what you make.
